A new book!

I've started reading a new book called "So you Don't Want to go to Church Anymore." Only two chapters in and beginning to feel my thoughts stirring. I've been challenged in the past to stop referring to what I do/where I go on Wednesday and Sunday as church. We've made a mess of the church and what we think it must look like. In my mind, I have begun to take more responsibility for what we make of it, but not necessarily taken any steps to making a difference. So far I feel challenged to question why I'm doing what I am doing. Am I filled with the love of Jesus? Do I preach the gospel unto my own life each day? I desperately do not want to get to the point of feeling as though I am doing everything I can for the Lord, and empty while doing it. This book has reminded me that "there is nothing the Father desires for [me] more than that [I] fall squarely in the lap of his love and never move from that place for the rest of [my] life."

Two more bits of wisdom I gleaned from this book:

"In this kingdom you really do get what you seek. That is the point of the whole thing. If you are looking for a relationship with God you will find it"

"If you look at what you've ended up with, then you'll know what you've really been seeking!"
